Connection and soul nourishment
I hope this past week of Thanksgiving – whether you celebrated and were social or enjoyed quiet and solitude, and whether you were active or restful (or both) – has been a good one for you.
I have received the gifts of in-person visits from beloved people recently – and wow, how it has nourished my whole being - body, mind and spirit.
I’m deeply grateful for time with loved ones where I've had the delight of hugs, looking people directly in the eye, soul-nourishing conversations and connection, shared meals, laughter, and time in nature.
This Sunday – with my son and our dear friend who was visiting – we rallied to get out the door before sunrise so we could hike (and be in time to get parking for...) one of the most challenging local mountain hikes.
Being on the mountain as the sun rises, moving my body in dynamic ways in nature, deepening my breath as I climb and touch rock that’s been here for generations longer than we can imagine, witnessing my son’s growth and capacity to climb and be surefooted and confident in uneven terrain, and sharing this beautiful nature space with loved ones…
This is soul nourishment and good medicine.
Connection – with nature, with other humans, and with our own bodies and their wisdom for us – is just good medicine (and the research backs this up).
Retreats are another way I love to create nervous system calming, soul-nourishing connection (for me and those who join). I’ve got a couple coming up.
If you have a moment, I'd love to hear what's feeling soul nourishing for you these days?
I'm wishing you beautiful connections, good soul nourishment, deep calm and radical self-care.
The world needs you well.
With love and many blessings,
Kelly
