Building Resiliency Among Those Who Care For Our Elders: Creating Sustainable Systems of Elder Care

This conference workshop will focus on how to build sustainable systems of care through ensuring that those who care for our elders have the knowledge, support and structure for their own well-being, resiliency, and burnout prevention.

This highly participatory keynote will show a framework for how the entire system of care is influenced by the self-care of our front line teams and family members caring for the elderly, teach methods for resilience-building, address the obstacles to implementation, and help participants walk away with an action plan they can begin immediately.

2024 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Conference (WEAAD), put on by the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS).

DAAS helps at-risk Arizonans meet their basic needs and provides the tools and resources to enable them to live safely, with dignity and independence. One of the ways DAAS fulfills this mission is by hosting the WEAAD conference for individual residents, professional organizations and communities to connect and advocate for the protection of aging adults and those 18 and older who have disabilities. The goal of this conference is to elevate the issue of elder abuse, neglect and exploitation in Arizona and provide education on best practices for prevention, including networking opportunities for professionals supporting older adults.
